早八人
A label Gen-Z Chinese students and workers slapped on themselves for having to show up — alive, technically — by 8 AM. Think: alarm at 6:30, instant noodles at 7, dead eyes by 7:50. It's equal parts complaint and solidarity badge, the way saying 'I'm a morning person' is, but the complete opposite. Being a 早八人 means you didn't choose the grind; the grind chose you, aggressively, before sunrise.
China's university scheduling often front-loads classes at 8 AM, and corporate culture similarly expects early starts. As youth unemployment rose and competition intensified post-pandemic, Gen-Z students found dark humor in their exhausted daily routines. The meme captures a generational mood: resigned, sleep-deprived, but bonded by shared suffering in a system that leaves little room to opt out.
指每天必须在早上八点前开始上课或上班的打工人,常带有自嘲和苦中作乐的意味。
